The Scrum Podcast is a Canadian sports podcast hosted by Canadian sports journalists Julian McKenzie and Tristan D’Amours. The show has discussed Canadian sports media topics such as Don Cherry being let go from Sportsnet, the Toronto Raptors NBA championship, the lack of diversity among Canadian sports media journalists, women’s hockey players seeking a viable league to play in, the Humboldt Broncos tragedy, and more. 

 

The show also compiled a list of the best Canadian sports media journalists under the age of 30 and has an annual award show for the best in Canadian sports media. 

 

The show has interviewed a number of guests from TSN, Sportsnet, The Athletic, ESPN, the Montreal Gazette, and other publications. The show’s guests include TSN’s Bob McKenzie, Canadian sprinting legend Donovan Bailey, actor Jay Baruchel, journalist Shireen Ahmed, DAZN Senior Vice-President Joe Markowski, and Montreal Impact president Kevin Gilmore. 

 

In 2019, the show was nominated for two Canadian Podcast Awards (Outstanding Sports Series and People’s Choice).
