Chris Boucher is a pivot end and two-time NBA champion, who is currently playing with Boston Celtics. Born in Castries, Saint Lucia, he moved to Montreal, Canada, at the age of five. He spent most of his childhood in Montreal, where he played hockey and soccer, before discovering basketball later than most of his peers. Before joining organized basketball, Chris went through periods of instability and homelessness, significant experiences that forged his resilience and determination.
In 2012, he got a place on a tournament basketball team and made a name for himself by scoring 44 points in the final match. This performance opened the doors to a preparatory school, where he decided to devote himself fully to basketball.
Chris Boucher then began his university career at a junior college, where he quickly distinguished himself and attracted the attention of several Division I programs. After his second season, he joined the University of Oregon, where he had an excellent end of his academic career. In two seasons with the Ducks, he averaged 12.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. In his senior year, he was named to the Pac-12 defensive team after leading the conference in counters with an average of 2.6 per game. He also helped Oregon qualify for the 2017 Final Four, a first for the program in 78 years.
However, a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) suffered during the Pac-12 tournament prevented him from participating in pre-draft training sessions, and he was not selected in the 2017 NBA draft. He then signed a dual affiliation contract with the Golden State Warriors, dividing his time between the NBA and the G League. He won his first NBA championship with the franchise in the 2017-2018 season.
In July 2018, Chris Boucher joined the Toronto Raptors, where he won the 2018-19 season. That year, he was named the G League Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the first player in history to win both awards in the same season. He then won his second NBA championship when the Raptors won the title in 2019.
Since this journey to the championship, Chris Boucher has remained a consistent contributor to the NBA, carving out a reliable role in the rotation thanks to his energy, basket protection, and ability to stretch the game. He played 80 matches during the 2021-22 season and continued to make a valuable contribution in limited minutes over the following seasons. In August 2025, he signed with the Boston Celtics, adding depth to the home sector as well as valuable championship experience to the team.
In addition to his sports career, Chris Boucher remains deeply committed to his community. He organized youth basketball camps in London and Ottawa, participated in the campaign Delivering Smiles from Amazon and set up distributions of backpacks and school supplies for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in Montreal.
At the dawn of the 2022—23 NBA season, he founded his non-profit organization, the SlimmDuck Foundation. This foundation aims to offer young people and disadvantaged communities concrete opportunities in the fields of education, sport and well-being, both in Canada and in the United States, with particular attention paid to Montreal, Toronto and Boston. Its initiatives include distributing school supplies, backpacks, clothing, and essential goods, supporting mental health and entrepreneurship projects, and expanding access to basketball through free camps and tournaments. Chris Boucher remains actively involved in the activities of the foundation, participating in events and engaging directly with young people. The SlimmDuck Foundation also collaborates with local restaurants and chefs to distribute nutritious meals and supports families this holiday season by providing gifts and essential resources.
