Hommage 2023
Jean-Yves Roux made his debut in the music industry as a hip-hop artist manager in the middle of the 90’s while he was still studying television production at Montreal University. Then in the beginning of the 2000’s he started producing music videos. In 2004, he started producing his first TV show named Vibeplus, a music program devoted to Hip-Hop culture produced for the community TV channel MAtv (owned by Quebecor). The same year he launched a magazine of the same name, which featured internationally renowned artists (Oxmo Puccino, Ludacris, etc.) that he also produced their concerts in Canada. The same year he convinced his partners to buy the well-known hip-hop music label Mounteal Records and became its president. In the years that followed, he devoted himself to the production of music videos, music concerts and distributing albums for local artists (Roi Heenok, Steeve K, Rebecca, Money Riderz, etc.) and international artists (Slai, Joey Starr, La Fouine, etc.). In 2008 Jean-Yves decided to put an end to the production and marketing of albums to focus on video productions for corporate clients. He even tried to launch an urban music TV channel named Clovys TV after getting its first CRTC license. But Clovys TV never had the chance to get on-air. Ten years later Jean-Yves finally comes back with Natyf TV, TV channel dedicated to multicultural programming, on-air since June 14 of 2018. Several original TV shows has been produced by its team: Le Spot, Gospelmania, La Pause Hip-Hop, Keke Show, etc.
