Real Blackity Talk

D’origine burundaise et natives de Montréal, Aiza et Kamana Ntibarikure sont sœurs et artistes multidisciplinaires à part entière. Ensemble elles ont fondé leur compagnie de production, "Balling Y’all Productions", qui a comme mission de produire de l’art qui responsabilise, éduque et divertit. À travers cette compagnie, les sœurs ont conçu, écrit, animé, produit et co-réalisé leur première série "Real Blackity Talk", lancée sur CBC Gem au printemps 2022. Cette série illumine les expériences des femmes Noires et des Noir.es non-binaires au Canada. En plus de sa carrière de comédienne, Aiza est une auteure-compositrice-interprète dont le premier EP "Adieu" lui a valu le prix d'artiste francophone de l'année au Gala Dynastie 2019. Son premier album, un beau mélange d'afro-pop et de R&B, sortira plus tard en 2023. Kamana est une metteure en scène accomplie. Elle a récemment participé à la conception d’une série d’ateliers portant sur la décolonisation des pratiques artistiques au théâtre, mettant en vedette des artistes de la majorité globale invités pour le plus grand rassemblement de ce genre au prestigieux festival Stratford en Ontario. Pour finir l’année 2022 en beauté, Aiza et Kamana ont lancé leur premier EP commun intitulé "Corona Bops"; celui-ci comprend des chansons entraînantes qui peuvent être entendues dans leur série "Real Blackity Talk".

Hailing from Montreal, Burundian sisters Aiza and Kamana Ntibarikure are multidisciplinary artists in their own right. Together they founded their production company “Balling Y’all Productions” with the mission of producing art that empowers, educates and entertains. Through this company, the sisters created, wrote, hosted, produced and co-directed their first series "Real Blackity Talk", which premiered on CBC Gem in Spring 2022. This docu-talk show shines a spotlight on the experiences of Black women and non-binary Black people in Canada. In addition to her acting career, Aiza is a singer-songwriter whose debut EP "Adieu" led her to win the Francophone Artist of the Year award at the 2019 Gala Dynastie. Her upcoming debut full-length album, which is a beautiful blend of Afro-pop and R&B, will be released later in 2023. Kamana is an accomplished director who has participated in the development of a series of workshops focused on the decolonization of artistic practices in theatre, which featured artists from the Global Majority invited to the largest gathering of its kind at the prestigious Stratford Festival in Ontario.  At the end of 2022, Aiza and Kamana released their first joint EP entitled Corona Bops, featuring catchy songs that can be heard in their series "Real Blackity Talk."
